Line of Fire Being a police officer or a firefighter carries a certain amount of personal danger, but being a lawyer? Not so much one assumes, but don’t tell that to this female lawyer in Connecticut. The lawyer recently settled her lawsuit against the City of Middletown based on an incident which occurred in the parking lot of Middletown Superior Court in 2005. It was during a divorce proceeding that the lawyer and her client were shot by the client’s husband, a retired state trooper, who then shot and killed himself. The client died, and the lawyer, who was shot four times, survived with serious injuries including facial scarring, hearing loss and post-traumatic stress disorder. The lawsuit was based on a claim that the city failed to provide protection in the courthouse parking lot and never informed the lawyer that the husband had tried on more than one occasion to bring prohibited items, including a knife and a gun, into the courthouse. A couple of things can be learned here: 1) lawyering can be more hazardous than expected, and 2) we are entitled to protection in the courthouse parking lot! Really?
I was very satisfied with the work you guys did for me. Honesty was the key, which makes you, guys a step above the rest!
Excellent Team in every respect
Thanks so much for pulling this together for me. There really is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Is the anything we can do to improve our service? I can't think of anything, was happy and well guided through the process; left with no questions; would hire James again.
I would recommend your firm to anyone needing help. We feel you and your team went above and beyond to help us.
DID YOU FEEL YOU WERE WELL REPRESENTED? Simply the best, would highly recommend you to everyone.
